Senior Staff Accountants manage the day-to-day operations of our Accounting Department using proprietary internal systems to deliver real-time financial reporting. We require the highest level of integrity and commitment to accurate and timely results. Senior Staff Accountants manage must prioritize effectively, managing numerous tasks and adhering to tight deadlines. Results-driven individuals who are resourceful and demand excellence will find the Senior Staff Accountant position challenging and rewarding.

 

This position is part of our Administration division, which supports multiple operating divisions that serve a nationwide customer base in industries ranging from residential communities to the financial industry to the medical field.

 

Senior Staff Accountants are responsible for overseeing key accounting functions and personnel, including the accounts receivable and accounts payable staff. Senior Staff Accountants manage report directly to the Vice President for Accounting and are responsible for daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, and preparing and/or reviewing general ledger entries. Senior Staff Accountants also prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Oversight and implementation of departmental processes
    and procedures
  • Management of company’s internal inventory and fixed
    asset management systems
  • Administration of vendor relations
  • Protecting company confidentiality
  • Understanding and upholding the policies, professional standards, and values of our company and the industries
    it serves.

 

Candidates must have two to five years hands-on experience with G/L management of a mid-size corporate accounting department.

 

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. CPA is preferred but not required.

 

Senior Staff Accountants must be eager to learn, highly motivated, and process-driven. Professional-level writing, spelling, and correspondence skills are required. Additionally, Senior Staff Accountants must demonstrate the following:

 

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to meet company and departmental deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

 

Candidates must have strong general technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft-based operating systems, Internet tools, telephone systems and software, and other common tools. Other software skills include:

 

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel (preferred)
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Working knowledge of database systems
