We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented grammar experts who are interested in joining our Production Department as part-time Proofreaders. Our Proofreaders are responsible for maintaining quality standards and ensuring error-free publications for our customers within the senior living division. Qualified candidates will possess advanced proofreading and computer skills, have an eye for detail, good organizational skills and excellent communication skills. Due to high production volumes, this position requires a commitment of at least 40 hours a month during our peak production time.

 

This position is part of our senior living division, which is dedicated to serving the needs of America’s fast-growing elderly population, providing comprehensive, individualized solutions that ensure their safety, comfort, health and access to the rich social and intellectual engagement they deserve.

 

Proofreaders are responsible for reading customer publications and correcting errors in spelling, grammar and punctuation. Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Flagging publications with unclear content for
    customer resolution
  • Meeting daily production quotas

 

Previous experience in a proofreading role preferred but not required. Knowledge of AP Style preferred.

 

A bachelor’s degree in journalism or English preferred; or high school diploma with a strong command of grammar, spelling and punctuation.

 

Candidates must be motivated, detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision. Other relevant attributes include:

Candidates must be able to work from a computer and be proficient with Microsoft-based operating systems and Internet tools. Other software programs include:

 

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel (preferred)
